Intensive Driving Course Terms & Conditions

You – the pupil

In return, we ask that you:

  1. Are able to read a number plate at a distance of 20 metres.
  2. Must be able to speak basic-level English to understand what your instructor is telling you. If you can’t, your instructor can refuse to teach you for safety reasons.
  3. Bring your photo card Provisional Driving License to your first lesson.
  4. Provide information about your driving licence to your instructor – instructions on how to do this will be provided.
  5. Download the Total Drive app for free from the Apple App Store or Google Play.(Some Instructors may not use the Total Drive app). 
  6. Wear sensible shoes for driving – No Crocs or Sandals.
  7. Inform your instructor of any changes which may affect your entitlement or ability to drive.
  8. To be in a fit state for your driving lesson. For example, being on medication that causes drowsiness or under the influence of drugs or alcohol is not acceptable. If your instructor suspects you are not in a fit state to drive, the lesson will be terminated and you will be charged the full lesson fee.
  9. The intensive course fee does not include or cover the cost to take the ADI’s car to the driving test. An additional Driving test fee will be required to use the car for your test – please confirm amount with the instructor.
  10. Take regular lessons.  If you stop taking lessons or leave long gaps in your training, your instructor may release your regular place to another student.  In this case, you may rejoin our waiting list.
 
Course & Payment Terms
  1. The booking fee is to be paid in full at the time of booking with us.
  2. The booking fee is non-refundable, so you must make sure you can attend on the agreed dates.
  3. The remaining balance must be paid in full to the instructor at least 10 working days before the start of the course.
  4. Your instructor will contact you and provide their bank details so you can transfer the funds directly to them or you can pay via the website payment gateway.
  5. Your course includes the amount of hours of in-car training with a DVSA Approved Driving Instructor (ADI).
  6. Your course will be delivered Monday to Friday during daylight hours (unless specified and agreed with the ADI)
  7. You will get a refreshment break during the lesson so ensure you bring some food & drink or some money to buy some.
  8. After your course, you may purchase additional lessons as required at our normal hourly rate you should arrange this with your instructor subject to their availability. If you need a significant amount of training, you can purchase another intensive course from us. 
Cancellations
  1. If you cancel your course, you will lose your booking fee.
  2. For any additional training hours arranged directly with your instructor, you will need to give at least 5 working days notice if you wish to cancel, otherwise, you will be charged the full lesson price.
Driving test bookings & the fast-track service
  1. After the course has been completed, your instructor will advise you if you are ready to book your practical driving test. Paying for an Intensive Driving Course does not ensure that the ADI will take you to test.
  2. If you are not ready, you can arrange additional training hours with your instructor at an additional cost, subject to availability.
  3. Your instructor has the right to refuse the use of their car if they feel you are not ready, so please check with them before booking if you intend to use their car for your test.
  4. Once you have booked your practical driving test, please let the ADI know of the test date and time as soon as possible. We recommend checking with the ADI prior to booking to avoid any disappointment.
Prerequisites to taking our intensive course

Before we can book you on to your course you will need the following:

  1. You must have a valid provisional driving licence. You must bring this with you to show your instructor at the start of your course.
  2. You must be able to speak basic-level English to understand what your instructor is telling you. If you can’t, your instructor can refuse to teach you for safety reasons.
  3. You must be able to read a number plate at 20 metres.
  4. Your acknowledgement that you agree to your personal data being held and processed by us for the specific purpose of delivering your course.
Our instructors

All our intensive driving instructors are fully qualified Approved Driving Instructors (ADIs).

Drivein5 instructors are all self-employed. This means the contract for tuition is between the instructor and you. All monies paid to them for tuition are the property of the instructor and not us, the driving school.

Definitions
  • Us / We / School / Drivein5 – your training provider
  • You – the customer, the pupil, the learner, the student.
  • Instructor ADI – your instructor, the person delivering your training
  • Course – your intensive course for in-car driving tuition.
  • DVSA – Driving & Vehicle Standards Agency
